The Community Technology Empowerment Project (CTEP) mobilizes AmeriCorps members to bridge the digital divide, targeting the unique technology and resource access needs of BIPOC, youth, and new immigrants in the Twin Cities. Members serve to develop culturally-appropriate training materials in computer education, train diverse communities in technology literacy, and help communities tell stories important to them through media education.
Preferred qualifications to participate in CTEP (one or more of the following are desired but not required):
- Desire to serve others with at least one year of experience
- Post-secondary education
- Technology skills, from basic to advanced; preferred areas include computer applications, web design, and video production
- Experience training others, especially in technology
- Bilingual in Hmong, Somali, Spanish, or other language
- Experience managing volunteers
